The Spirit’s Names

1. The Counselor (parakletos)
2. The Spirit of Truth

The Spirit’s Identity

1. He is fully God.
2. He is a distinct person.
3. He is Holy.

The Spirit’s Work

1. He testifies about Jesus.*
2. He convicts the world.
3. He guides us into truth.

What does this mean for us today?

1. We must test the spirits.
2. We must walk with the Holy Spirit.
3. We must learn to obey the Holy Spirit.

Closing Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blessed,
and make our hearts your dwelling place.
Fill us with your light and truth.
Strengthen us with your power and grace.
Drive far from us the enemy
and give us peace within our hearts.
Guide us in the way of Christ
and keep us faithful in your truth.
Teach us to know the Father,
to trust the Son who saved us,
and to walk each day in the power of your presence.
Holy Spirit, fill your people today.
Give us courage to testify about Jesus.
Give us wisdom to walk in truth.
Give us power to live for your glory.
We receive your presence with gratitude
and we surrender our lives to your leading.
Amen.
