Growth Group Study Guide

Study the Word:

(1) Read John 19:31-37 and Exodus 12:21-28. God instructs the people of Israel to celebrate the Passover every year and to explain it’s meaning to their children. What can we do as a community to remember the cross and explain it’s meaning to the next generation?

(2) Read Revelation 5:8-14. The Lamb of God is celebrated as being worthy of all worship and praise. Why is the Lamb of God uniquely worthy to open the scroll? List all His characteristics that are mentioned in these verses.

Personal Application:

(1) Because Jesus is the final Passover Lamb, we can be confidant that His blood covers all of our sin. Based on this truth, how should we relate today to our sin? Does this mean that God doesn’t see our sin anymore? How can we walk in our forgiveness in Christ without becoming indifferent to our sin?

(2) Revelation 5 describes Jesus as the Lion of Judah AND the Lamb that was slain. Why are both of these titles important if we are going to maintain a correct understanding of Jesus? Listen to the Worship Song, “The Lion and The Lamb” and write down your response below:
