Worship & Communications Pastor
I'm the oldest of three brothers who grew up in the Deep East Texas town of Jasper. I attended a Pentecostal church pastored by my grandfather from the time I was born, and later the Methodist church where we attended until I graduated high school. I was involved in worship ministry as long as I was in church - my mom played piano and sang, and I began singing in church very early in life. I was a youth director in my hometown for a couple of years before marrying Darin and moving to Dallas in 2000. Together we served as volunteers in worship ministry until God confirmed in us both the call that I should be in a staff pastor position at a church. God led me to a church in a South-Dallas suburb where I met and ministered alongside our lead pastor, Keith.
During that ministry position on staff, we became close friends with Keith and Barie, and they shared with us about God's calling on Keith to plant a church. At that time I had no understanding of what church planting was in the USA - I thought that was something that missionaries did in other parts of the world. As we learned more and prayed for our church-planting friends, God began to stir our hearts for church planting as well. I knew I liked working with Keith, so in January of 2006 (when Darin was 7 and 1/2 months pregnant) we moved to Austin to be a part of the Hill Country Bible Church Plant that Keith would pastor which is now Cityview Bible. I got a job managing a Starbucks in Round Rock until October of 2008 when Cityview hired me in a full-time capacity.
We have a daughter, Kinsey who was born in March of 2006, and three sons: Taggart born in May of 2008, Chord born in March of 2011, and Topher born in April of 2014.
