David works as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor at the Center for Relational Care in Austin, where he helps people overcome painful struggles and draw closer to God and other people. He works primarily with couples who want better marriages, but he also helps individuals who face barriers to personal growth take steps toward maturity. Before he became a professional counselor, David pastored churches in Texas and in Illinois. David has 26 years of pastoral ministry experience and 10 years of experience as a professional counselor.

God blessed David with a great education; he has his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Texas A&M University, a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward's University.

David and Dawn came to Cityview in 2011. They lead a Real Life Group together. Dawn serves as the lead MOPS mentor, and David helps lead the college men’s group on Sunday evenings. David loves bible study and public speaking. He often speaks to groups of people about marriage, parenting, and growing closer to God. He also enjoys college sports, playing golf, singing and playing drums, hanging out with friends. Most of all, he enjoys dating his wife, spending time with his children, and playing with his granddaughter.
